Passenger Rules

Be ready to board 10 minutes prior to your scheduled pick-up time. If the bus has not arrived by 15 minutes past your pick-up time, please call the office at (575) 769-7910.

Multiple stops can be scheduled by a passenger.

All passengers must use available saftey belts, including passengers and wheelchairs.

All children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Children must wear safety belts.

Space is limited – Please only carry two bags per passenger.

CATS is not responsible for items left aboard the vehivles. Please check for all belonging before exiting. 

Please remain seated until the vehicle has come to a complete stop. 

No eating, smoking, drinking, cursing, or firearms aboard the vehicle.

Driviers schedules do not allow for waiting longer than 3 minutes.

If you forget to cancel your ride at least 1 hour prior to your appointment, you will be credited with a no-show. 

Unless there is a medical emergency, passengers may not book trips less than 5 blocks.

Lift weight restriction is 800 pounds.

Passengers must allow their mobility device to be secured. Scooters cannot be safely secured, so you will be asked to transfer to a seat during transport. 

Drivers are not allowed to enter your residence.

Door-to-door assistance will be provided if it is requested, needed, and safe to do.

Customer Policy

The driver is responsible for the safety and welfare of all passengers while riding the transit vehicle. Therefore the driver is in charge and all passengers are expected to comply.

Multile stops can be scheduled by passengers.

If a vehicle is seatbelt equipped and passengers fail to buckle up, the driver will ask them to do so before proceeding. If the passenger does not do so, then they will be asked to exit the vehicle. 

Passengers are expected to maintain control of their possessions while on the vehicle. We are not responsible for stolen property.

Passengers are expected to act in a courteous manner at all times while riding the vehicle. If the passenger fails to comply, then they will be asked to exit the vehicle.

Passengers are not permitted to consume food and drinks while aboard the vehicle.

All vehicles are tabacco free. Smoking and chewing are not permitted. 

No passenger is permitted to have an open alcoholic beverage container while aboard the vehicle. 

Any person using profane language towards the driver or other passengers may be asked to exit the vehicle. 

Weapons are not allowed on any vehicle at any time. If you are found with a weapon you will be turned over to law enforcement. 

Passengers are asked to maintain good personal hygiene so as not to offend other passengers.

Portable oxygen devices are allowed to travel with respirators and properly secured portable oxygen supplies. Your supplies may not obstruct the aisle. 

Service animals accompanying individuals with disabilities will be allowed to board the vehicle. 

Pets being taken to the vet will be allowed but only in a locked pet carrier under the passengers control the entire time. 

In the event of an emergency, all passengers are to explicitly follow the instructions given by the driver.
